Sri Lanka 2013 - Successfully Completed!

Well, they did it and they did it in style!

The 2013 Group project is now complete and Kevin Knight, the Group's co-ordinator has been able to send over some final photographs of the finished building and the opening ceremony.

I hope you agree with me that the team has done an amazing job and seem to have enjoyed themselves whilst doing it!

Here's how it ended ...

Beverley cuts the ribbon.

Lighting the symbolic lamp.

Sophie gives a speech on behalf of the volunteers.

The volunteers perform in the 'cultural exchange'.

The volunteers leave their mark on the building!

New poster and cloud decorations.

The completed wall hangings in place.

The new room from the Centre's play area.

The new steps being used by the children.

The Sri Lanka 2013 Group volunteers ... 'the Damsels of Sigiriya' or just
plain 'brilliant' according to Kevin!

Right now the volunteers are taking a well earned rest in Mount Lavinia but already five members of the Group have had to set off for home and back to their family and friends in the UK.

AidCamps would like to thank all the volunteers and their supporters for helping to deliver this amazing project and if you've been inspired by what these volunteers have achieved then why not sign up yourself? There's more than enough work to do in Sri Lanka or in any of the other countries we work in.

Safe journey home to all the volunteers and to Kevin, our co-ordinator on this wonderful project.
