Application

You may apply for an Independent AidCamp directly over the Internet or by post.  For postal applications you can download the forms from here, or print one off directly from this website.

You may apply for an Independent AidCamp via our website at www.AidCamps.org or by post.

A complete application consists of:

• a completed application form,
• a recent passport style (head and shoulders) colour photograph (why?),
  (not necessary for return volunteers, unless you don't like the one we've already got of you!)
• a curriculum vitae (CV): Optional (but always useful) for unskilled placements.  Required for skilled placements, along with proof of qualifications,
• the registration fee, which may be paid by:

  a) a UK cheque written in British Pounds Sterling and drawn on a UK bank (note that we cannot accept "Charity Cheques" for the registration fee), or

  b) for a little extra, so that we receive the correct amount after processing costs, by credit or debit card  (See Credit & Debit Card Rates)

  *The £4 surcharge for internet card payment of the registration fee is non-refundable. If we cannot offer you a placement your card will be refunded £45

Once we get your application we will contact you to discuss your wishes, examine options, and suggest possibilities. Having reached an understanding with you on your requirements we will then negotiate with our partner organisations to agree a placement suitable for you.

If we cannot offer you a placement fitting your stated requirements within 10 days, then you can either:

• get a refund (* see above), or
• enrol into our Volunteer Matching Service

Please note that we cannot accept applications from residents of countries where there is no formal criminal record checking system.

Please note that if you send your application by recorded or special delivery it might well take
longer to reach us if delivery is attempted when we are not available to sign for it.
