Short Term Volunteer Work Overseas on Third World Development Aid Projects Independent AidCampsVolunteer Matching ServiceWe understand that you may prefer to share your Independent AidCamp experience with someone of like mind, or may want to wait for a particular opportunity to become available, so we offer a Volunteer Matching Service to match you to other volunteers and/or specific opportunities. Enrolment to the Volunteer Matching Service until we can offer you a place (one year maximum) is included in the registration fee, if we can't offer you what you want within 10 days. Matching You to Other VolunteersIf you'd like to share your time on an Independent AidCamp or join/create a small team, we will try and match you with other volunteers with similar requirements enrolled in the service. In addition to your placement requirements we'll discuss with you the sort of person or people you'd like to be matched with. When we believe we have a possible match for you we'll tell both of you about each other, sharing the information supplied in your applications and subsequent discussions, minus the contact details. If you both decide the match sounds good, we'll then put you in contact with each other so that you can communicate directly and decide if you'd like to do an Independent AidCamp together. Matching You to Future OpportunitiesOur host partner organisations have ongoing programmes that they regularly need volunteers for (which are described on this website), and they also instigate specific development aid projects on an as-needed basis. If the sort of placement that you'd like to undertake isn't currently available, you can enrol into our Volunteer Matching Service and we will try to match your requirements with any new or specific opportunities that arise. We'll only accept your enrolment on this basis if we genuinely believe that there is a fair chance of the sort of placement you are looking for becoming available. If it's not the sort of thing that any of our partner organisations do, we won't waste your time. See Volunteering for information on how to volunteer for an Independent AidCamp, the required fees and donations, and what happens after you apply. |
