AidCamps International

Short Term Voluntary Aid Projects in the Developing World

Volunteer Placements

We offer the two basic kinds of volunteer placements:

Group AidCamps allow you to join an organised team with other like-minded volunteers to implement a community development aid project.  They last for three weeks, run on specific dates, and are guided projects that include an planned itinerary.

Independent AidCamps are individual placements where we match you to a local development aid need.  You can undertake one at almost any time and go for weeks or months.  They are mainly suitable for self-reliant individuals and couples.  In some cases we can organise Family AidCamps.

You can combine the two and do a Group + Independent AidCamp if you want.

We can also organise Private Group AidCamps if you've already got a "team" that would like to do a development aid project together.

Quick Comparison

The following provides a quick comparison between Group and Independent AidCamps.  Please see the individual sections for full and detailed information on each.

We will work to match your requirements and skills with the needs of our partner NGOs and local communities, to offer you a placement matching your desires.

Where your funding goes The development aid project

By coming on an AidCamp you unite with other volunteers to fund and help implement a much larger local development project than could otherwise be achieved.

Where the donation goes 30% goes to funding the AidCamps International's charitable work.

70% goes directly into the implementation of the project (bricks, cement, labour costs, etc), and is what makes the project possible.

These two make up the minimum donation.

100% of donations above the minimum will also go directly to the benefit of the project and/or the community.

For example:  writing materials, desks, an additional room, etc, depending on the total funds donated and the community's needs.

First £100 goes equally between the host country development organisation you will be working with and AidCamps International to fund both organisations' charitable work.

100% of the rest, including donations more than the minimum, goes directly to the objective(s) agreed with you.

We ask that at least £200 be used to provide for needs within the community of your placement, and agreed before you go.

Agree what you'd like to fund with the rest either beforehand or when you are there.
