Work, rest, play and then more work for Rookwood Students!

I'm having trouble keeping abreast of developments in Sri Lanka at the moment as things are progressing so quickly.  The group from Rookwood School is working flat out to finish the project on time.

According to our Project Co-ordinator, Kevin the group managed some brief respite over the weekend by taking a day trip to Kataragama, via Debrawewa, and on to Tissamaharama, Kirinda and the hot springs at Madunagala.

The following day the group were up at 5.30am for an early morning Safari in Uda Walawe National Park. Though everyone had a good time the Park was very dry (unlike the UK) and consequently there seemed to be fewer animals in evidence.

In the afternoon it was back to base and some chores including tidying the bungalow; cleaning the luggage; preparing English lessons; painting desks and preparing the boards; rehearsing the dance and song for the Opening Ceremony and writing up diaries.

This was followed by a bit of good old 'chilling out'. I'm not surprised are you?

Anyway, as you'll see from the rest of the photo's below, the hard work has started again and the group is now working alongside the local, professional builders who are getting the roof sorted.

Are they going to finish on time ... of course they are!

If you have any energy left then there's always time for some games!
